AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE PUBLIC SCHOOL CAPITAL OUTLAY EVALUATION AND FUNDING SYSTEM; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--

A. Five hundred sixty-four thousand dollars ($564,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the state department of public education for expenditure in fiscal years 1999 and 2000 to complete and manage the public school capital outlay evaluation and funding system. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2000 shall revert to the general fund.

B. Sixty-two thousand dollars ($62,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of finance and administration for expenditure in fiscal years 1999 and 2000 to complete and manage the public school capital outlay evaluation and funding system. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2000 shall revert to the general fund.

Section 2. EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public peace, health and safety that this act take effect immediately.
