AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO DEVELOP HOUSING AND OTHER PROGRAMS TO SERVE THE NEEDS OF INDIGENT PERSONS WITH BRAIN INJURIES.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Four hundred thousand dollars ($400,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the public health division of the department of health for expenditure in fiscal years 2000 and 2001 for the purpose of contracting as needed to provide technical support to begin to create statewide housing options for indigent persons with brain injuries, to begin a statewide awareness campaign and to support research to gather data on the needs of the population in New Mexico with brain injuries. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2001 shall revert to the general fund.
