AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR CRITICAL OUTLAY NEEDS OF SCHOOL DISTRICTS PURSUANT TO THE PUBLIC SCHOOL CAPITAL OUTLAY ACT; GIVING PREFERENCE TO THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS TO THE GRANTS-CIBOLA COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Six million dollars ($6,000,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the public school capital outlay fund for expenditure in fiscal years 1999 through 2002 for allocation to public schools for critical capita outlay needs pursuant to the Public School Capital Outlay Act. The public school capita outlay council shall give preference to the capital needs of the Grants-Cibola county school district in Cibola county. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2002 shall revert to the general fund.

Section 2. EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public peace, health and safety that this act take effect immediately.
