AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE OFFICE OF THE STATE ENGINEER FOR WATER ADMINISTRATION IMPROVEMENTS.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One million eighty-seven thousand dollars ($1,087,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the office of the state engineer for expenditure in fiscal year 2000 for the office of the state engineer and the interstate stream commission to increase personnel, pay for office expenses, computerize agency records, obtain professional legal services and pay for travel expenses to represent state interests, all in accord with the fiscal year 2000 executive branch requests. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2000 shall revert to the general fund.
