Your EDUCATION COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

SENATE BILL 622, as amended

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

1. Strike Senate Education Committee Amendments 2 through 12 and 14.

2. On page 1, line 20, strike "eighteen" and insert in lieu thereof "twenty-one".

3. On page 2, line 12, strike "and".

4. On page 2, line 14, strike "education." and insert in lieu thereof "education; and".

5. On page 2, between lines 14 and 15, insert a new subparagraph "(9) three teachers appointed jointly by the national education association-New Mexico and New Mexico federation of teachers."

6. On page 4, line 5, after "session.", insert "The task force's mandate will expire on January 30, 2000.".,

and thence referred to the APPROPRIATIONS AND FINANCE COMMITTEE.
