AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION OF ONE HUNDRED FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($150,000) TO THE NEW MEXICO HIGHLANDS UNIVERSITY FOR FUNDING THE NATIVE AMERICAN ACCESS AND RETENTION INITIATIVE.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) is appropriated from the general fund to New Mexico highlands university for expenditure in fiscal year 2000 for the purpose of funding the Native American access and retention initiative. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2000 shall revert to the general fund.
