AN ACT

RELATING TO THE PUBLIC PEACE, HEALTH, SAFETY AND WELFARE; MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR A STATEWIDE TOWN HALL TO UNITE COMMUNITIES IN A VISIONING PROCESS.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--

A. Two hundred twenty-five thousand dollars ($225,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the local government division of the department of finance and administration for expenditure in fiscal year 2000 for the purpose of conducting a statewide town hall meeting to unite communities in a consensus building format to focus on goals and priorities in order to reach a vision of what the state should be by 2012, which is New Mexico's one hundredth anniversary. This process shall be called "Vision 2012". The department of finance and administration shall report back to the legislature by December 1, 1999.

B. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2000 shall revert to the general fund.
