SUMMARY



Synopsis of Bill



House Bill 173 appropriates provides a general fund appropriation to LGD to conduct a feasibility study to identify wastewater treatment options to protect the eater supply of the pueblo of Picuris and the mutual domestic water associations of Penasco, Rodarte, Rio Lucio, Chamisal, Placitas, Llano de la Cuchilla and Llano de San Juan in Taos county for expenditure in FY2000.



FISCAL IMPLICATIONS



The bill makes a general fund appropriation of $30.0 to LGD for expenditure in FY2000. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of FY2000 reverts to the general fund.



CONFLICTS



This bill conflicts with House Bill 113 which provides a different funding amount to the Environment Department for a study of wastewater treatment options in the same area.
