SUMMARY

Synopsis of Bill

House Bill 828 appropriates $20.0 from the general fund for the Curry County Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP).

Significant Issues

The Curry County RSVP Program currently receives $16.0 from the State Agency on Aging for the RSVP. In addition, they receive $14.6 from a federal appropriation through the Corporation for National and Community Service.

FISCAL IMPLICATIONS

House Bill 828 appropriates $20.0 from the general fund for expenditure in fiscal year 2000. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2000 will revert to the general fund.

ADMINISTRATIVE IMPLICATIONS

The agency will be able to absorb the additional activities within their existing capacity. The fund would be contracted directly to Curry County from the State Agency on Aging.

RELATIONSHIP

This bill is in relation to the Aging Network's Legislative Request (HB358), however these funds were not part of that particular request.
