SUMMARY

Synopsis of Bill

House Joint Resolution 10 proposes to allow the Retiree Health Care Authority (RHCA) to sell the property once used as its office complex. The property is located at 625 Don Gaspar Avenue in Santa Fe.

Significant Issues

The RHCA received legislative authorization to purchase the property in 1993. The RHCA has outgrown the complex and is currently leasing office space. The Don Gaspar office complex is currently leased to the Attorney General's Office ($1,000 per month plus utilities, insurance, upkeep, and maintenance).

FISCAL IMPLICATIONS

On July 10, 1996, the Don Gaspar office complex had an appraised value of $322.0. Should HJR 10 pass, the RHCA would use the proceeds for either the purchase or construction of an office complex.
