SUMMARY

Synopsis of Bill

SB 99 appropriates $53.5 to the GCCH in FY 2000 for the purpose of providing or contracting for a statewide public education program on multichemical sensitivity. Any unexpended or unencumbered balances would revert to the general fund at the end of FY 20000.

Significant Issues

According to the GCCH, the funding for the multiple chemical sensitivity (MCS) program would flow through the agency to a contractor who could provide training on the subject. Furthermore, there would be no staff increase in order to get this educational project completed.

FISCAL IMPLICATIONS

SB 99 appropriates $53.5 to GCCH for MCS training.

SUBSTANTIVE ISSUES

According to GCCH, the bill will educate people about the illness, and what can be done to address the problems that can occur in those who have it.
