Synopsis of the Senate Judiciary Committee Amendment



The Senate Judiciary Committee's amendment to Senate Bill 611 changes the effective time of the adopted ordinance from 30 to 45 days. The amendment also corrects a spelling error.



Synopsis of Bill



Senate Bill 611 as amended proposes to shorten the period of time before certain municipal ordinances authorizing sales or leases of municipal utility facilities or real property become effective from 70 to 45 days. Additionally, the bill shortens the period of time for filing a petition calling for a referendum election on a sale or lease ordinance from 60 to 30 days.
