A RESOLUTION

REQUESTING THE SPEAKER AND THE MAJORITY AND MINORITY LEADERSHIP OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES TO STUDY AND MAKE RECOMMENDATIONS ON THE HOUSE CAPITAL OUTLAY PROCESS.



WHEREAS, the state invests millions of dollars annually in capital construction around the state; and

WHEREAS, the projects supported by these investments are critical to the well-being and economy of New Mexico and its citizens; and

WHEREAS, it is in the interest of the communities throughout the state to have a fair distribution of this taxpayer-generated revenue;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO that the speaker and the majority and minority leadership of the house of representatives study the current process of allocating capital outlay funds and make recommendations to the body at the forty-fourth legislature, second session; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that during the study, the leadership be encouraged to seek the input of other representatives; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this resolution be transmitted to the speaker and the majority and minority leadership of the house of representatives.
